Angela Briggs
Psychologist
Angela studied at Deakin University in Victoria where she received a Bachelor of Food & Nutrition Science and Bachelor of Psychological Science. She continued her education at Cairnmillar Institute receiving an Honours and Masters in Psychology. She has experience working in schools, community health and private practice with children, adolescents and adults.
Angela’s work is grounded in the individual’s biological, psychological and social needs. Angela highlights the “importance of seeing the whole individual rather than a set of symptoms”. She has experience in a range of interventions such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Trauma Informed Practice and Mindfulness Based Approaches.
Angela’s practice focuses creating a space where clients can feel empowered and build resilience. She emphasises the importance of the therapeutic relationship and blends warmth and compassion in her approach.
She values the chance to connect with each client’s unique story, recognising that every client brings something different to the therapy space. She has a special interest in trauma, OCD, phobias, anxiety, and relationships among a variety of other presentations.
Rachel Paige
Psychologist
Rachel received her undergraduate qualification in Psychological Science at Australian Catholic University (ACU) before continuing her studies at Cairnmillar where she completed the Honours program and Master of Professional Psychology. Rachels professional experience includes working in community, public and private healthcare settings with adults and adolescents.
Rachel has a holistic approach which addresses overall wellbeing. Her client centred focus builds a supportive therapeutic relationship, “My goal is for clients to be as comfortable as they can be while doing something uncomfortable like therapy”.
Her practice challenges clients to be curious and reflective. She works with a range of presentations including, eating disorders, low self esteem, adjustment disorder, anxiety, depression and stress management.
Rachel focuses on the use of Cognitive behaviour strategies, Acceptance and commitment therapy and motivation interviewing. She emphasises the importance a therapeutic intervention suiting the individual she is working with, “therapy should fit you, it shouldn’t be you having to fit into the therapy”.
